- Here you will find a text about the „changes to the environment caused by the covid 19-pandemic“. Read it carefully.
- (-> into your document) Der Text erklärt, dass sich die Natur im Moment sehr erholt, weil die Menschen durch die Pandemie sich zurücknehmen müssen. Erkläre auf Deutsch, was der Text sagt: a) Was kann man in der Natur beobachten? b) Woran liegt es, dass die Natur sich erholt? Unter der Überschrift „Wie sich die Natur ändert in dieser Corona-Zeit“ schreibe einen kurzen Text auf deutsch.

Thursday, 30th April 2020: relative clauses and relative pronouns (Grammar)
Es gibt Sätze und Relativ-Sätze. Was ist ein Relativ-Satz?
Das Englische Wort „to relate“ bedeutet „sich auf etwas beziehen“. Ein Relativsatz ist ein Satz, der sich auf etwas Vorhergegangenes bezieht. Hmmm. Mal ein Beispiel:
- „Das ist eine Maschine. Sie kann Kaffee kochen.“ Hier haben wir zwei Sätze, aber du bemerkst, dass sich der zweite Satz auf den ersten Satz bezieht: Sie kann Kaffee kochen. Der Satz bezieht sich auf die Maschine im ersten Satz. Hier haben wir noch keinen Relativsatz, sondern einfach zwei Sätze…
- „Das ist eine Maschine, die Kaffee kochen kann“. „die Kaffee kochen kann“ ist ein Relativsatz. Er bezieht sich auf die „Maschine“ im ersten Satzteil, richtig? Du siehst, dass ein Relativsatz kein Hauptsatz ist. „die Kaffee kochen kann“ ist kein eigener Hauptsatz. Es ist ein Nebensatz. Also:
Ein Relativsatz ist ein Neben(!)satz, der sich auf etwas Vorhergegangenes Bezieht.
Jetzt mal zwei Beispiele auf Englisch:
- This is a machine. It can make coffee. – This is a machine, that/which can make coffee.
- This is John. He can make coffee. – This is John, who can make coffee.
- This is John. He has a machine, that can make coffee. – This is John, whose machine can make coffee.
That, which, who, whose? Relativpronomen!
- That oder Which bezieht sich auf Sachen oder Gegenstände: „This is the machine, that/which can make coffee“. „Das ist die Maschine, die/welche Kaffee machen kann“.
- Who bezieht sich auf Personen: „This is John, who can make coffee.“ „Das ist John, der Kaffee machen kann.“
- Whose zeigt einen Besitz von jemanden an: „This is John, whose machine can make coffee.“ „Das ist John, dessen Maschine Kaffee kochen kann.“
